Companies House, which maintains a register of directors who havebeen disqualified by the courts, has created a new web site toprovide the public with instant access to the list.

The initiative is another weapon in the DTI's crackdown on dishonestbosses. A 24-hour telephone hotline for people to report banneddirectors involved in running companies is playing an important role.

It will carry details of each person including their name, address,date of birth, period of disqualification and the legislation underwhich the order was made. Once a period of disqualification hasended, the individual concerned will be removed from the list. Thelist will be updated on a weekly basis.

Other features of the site will be a What's New? page, frequentlyasked questions, a facility for site feedback and links to relatedsites.
