DCA of the Year shortlist announced today

By CreditMan Monday, November 5, 2007

The Debt Collection Agency (DCA) of the Year awards 2007, the inaugural awards scheme to recognise best practice in the debt collection and purchase industry, has announced the final shortlist. Winners will be announced at the ceremony hosted by comedian Ed Byrne at the Hilton Metropole, Birmingham, on 28 November.

Steve Wrench, Head of Debt Management at Virgin Media and co-chair judge of the awards said, “The companies that have reached the final stages have ticked all the boxes of the judging criteria and have displayed a responsible approach to debt collection and adherence to best practice. We saw some superb submissions, and it was good to see so many testimonials from their key creditor clients. It will be very hard to choose the winners, they should be very proud of their efforts.”

The finalists will now be judged by the panel of eight key industry players and respected authorities.

Kelly Stanley, spokesperson for Credit Today commented, “The quality of nominations has been impressive and the short listed companies will provide a tough choice for the judges. It is easy to scapegoat all debt collection agencies as the bad boys of the credit process. We look forward to redressing the balance by providing a showcase of best practice, responsible collections and focus on customer satisfaction - highlighting these achievements at the inaugural awards ceremony this month.”

Staged in association with Credit Today, ‘The DCA of the Year awards 2007,’ will be held during a gala celebration dinner, part of the two-day Collections / Debt Sale & Purchase conference and training session for professionals in the world of debt sale, purchase, collections and recoveries.

This is the first year for the ‘The DCA of the Year awards 2007,’ which will set the standard for professional excellence and best practice in debt collection and purchase.
