Company Watch, specialists in tracking and predicting corporate financial health, has appointed Jo Kettner (née Roberts) as Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Jo Kettner takes over the firm’s leading executive role from co-founder and former CEO Denis Baker who remains with the firm as a board director and full-time member of staff.

Since 2003, Kettner has held a number of roles at Company Watch. Initially working on the research side of the business while completing undergraduate and post-graduate doctoral studies, in 2009 she joined full time as Head of Operations, before assuming the role of Director of Finance & Corporate Affairs in 2014.

As CEO, Kettner will be leading the delivery of a comprehensively redesigned version of the Company Watch product, which will have additional features, improved functionality and a much more user-friendly interface. The new version will also run on multiple platforms, including mobile.

A history graduate from Clare College, Cambridge, Kettner holds an MA and a PhD in Romanian History from the School of Slavonic & East European Studies, University of London.

Jo Kettner, Chief Executive Officer of Company Watch, said: “I’m delighted to have been appointed as CEO and I’m very much looking forward to a more outward-facing role, spending a lot more time meeting clients, prospects and suppliers face to face. I’d like to thank Denis for the huge support and encouragement he has provided over the years, and look forward to working with him in his new role with the firm.

“There is an excellent team in place here, which is committed to rigorously high standards in product support and development, and in customer service. “This is a very exciting time at Company Watch. In the coming months we’ll be releasing a completely revamped product. With all the economic uncertainties including Brexit, businesses have to be even more vigilant when extending credit or taking on new clients.”

Denis Baker added: “I’m handing over the leadership baton to Jo, who is ideally placed to lead Company Watch with her long experience working with the firm at senior levels. I’ll be continuing as a full time executive director, seeing clients and new business prospects, and supporting Jo as she takes the firm forward.”
