FLA Conference on effectiveness and efficiency in the collection of debts

By CreditMan Friday, July 21, 2006

With many finance providers experiencing rising levels of bad debt, effective and efficient collection strategies are high on the agenda.

This conference from Finance & Leasing Association (FLA) (in association with Impact Plus) addresses emerging issues and the opportunities they present – from industry-wide change and the strategic considerations of collections to organisational issues concerning people, processes and technology.

An audience of industry professionals will hear senior officials from The Insolvency Service and OFT give an overview of regulation, current research and trends, and an overview of proposals for reform, such as the Simplified Individual Voluntary Arrangement (“SIVA”). Industry speakers will look at collections best practice and effective contact strategies while the Consumer Credit Counselling Service will guide on how best to work in partnership with money advice.

A choice of concurrent afternoon workshops cover “Creating a Dynamic Collections Environment“ or “The Power of Positive Vocabulary“ and “Pre-delinquency“ or “Exploiting Technology in a Collections Environment“.

The one day conference, being held at the Hyatt Regency The Churchill London W1 on Wednesday 10 October concludes with a presentation on “Using Management Information Effectively” by British Credit Trust. The event will round off with an informal drinks reception hosted by Impact Plus, which will give delegates a chance to talk to speakers and network with other delegates.
