IPA Statement re Mr David Whitehouse and Mr Paul Clark former administrators of Rangers Football Club
As a Recognised Professional Body under the Insolvency Act 1986, the IPA has a duty to act in the public interest and ensure that those of its members who are authorised to take insolvency appointments are fit and proper.
Both D Whitehouse and P Clark have offered and the IPA has accepted formal undertakings that they will not take any new appointments with immediate effect, and they have voluntarily transferred all current appointments to other practitioners.
These are interim steps and not a sanction on their conduct as no decision has been taken in relation to their fitness and propriety. The measures are however necessary in the public interest, to protect the reputation of the insolvency profession and the Association whilst the Scottish police carry out their investigations into the serious charges which have been brought.
