The Credit Today Awards 2009 is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year. The established awards ceremony, which honours the high achievers within the credit industry, will be taking place at the Grosvenor House Hotel in Park Lane, London, on Thursday 14th May 2009.

In celebrating its 10th Anniversary, the team behind the awards - Credit Today, the UK’s leading credit industry magazine title – have introduced a new category to the awards whilst also securing the services of one of the most talked about comedians in the country to play host, Mr Michael McIntyre.

Kamala Panday, publisher of Credit Today, and one of the judges for the awards comments: “With the newly added ‘Corporate Social Responsibility’ category, we are focussing more than ever on those companies who have demonstrated over the last year excellent and responsible approaches to their everyday working activities.

“We are also thrilled to announce that Michael McIntyre will be hosting the awards, which will also be celebrating its 10th anniversary. Michael I’m sure will stamp his own mark on proceedings and will make for what will be a most exciting and enjoyable evening for all who attend.”

Michael McIntyre is a regular on a raft of panel shows, from ‘Have I Got News For You,’ and ‘Mock the Week,’ to ‘8 Out Of 10 Cats’. Michael is one of the UK’s rising comedian stars, with lightning-fast recall and an ability to read an audience, which has earned him much comparison to the late, great, Bob Monkhouse.

The awards themselves are designed to recognise outstanding achievement and reward best practice in a number of categories. They present a real opportunity for winners and nominees to highlight their achievements, as well as to recognise and celebrate success from the rest of the industry.

Kamala adds: “The awards have grown tremendously over the last 10 years, something we are all very proud of here at Credit Today. In today’s economic climate it is vital that good practice is rewarded and built upon. Credit professionals will face a range of challenges in the months and years ahead and should be sharing their efforts and successes to accelerate recovery. From responsible lending to top litigation team, the Credit Today Awards recognise those at the forefront of this crucial industry.”
